Fishing in Dreux on the Blaise: a Street Fishing trout course

Fishing in Dreux

Normandy offers a wealth of small urban courses for street fishing. The special feature is that most of the rivers are classified as first category fish, and most of the species present are salmonids.

The route :

Located not far from Chartre, the town of Dreux in the Eure-et-Loire region of France offers an unusual and different way to practice street fishing.

Located less than two hours from the Ile de France, Dreux offers a salmon-farming course right in the middle of town, and can satisfy trout anglers and street fisheurs alike.

In fact, the course is classified as first category, allowing you to enjoy street fishing as early as March and April, when most second category city courses are closed to lure fishing.

Hot spot:

Along the Rotrou path, the Blaise winds its way through a green setting, surrounded by sports facilities and apartment blocks.

A few wild brown trout can be lured and some fine 40 cm specimens are caught each year.

We can also count on the presence of many released fish, especially at the start of the season, most of which are brown trout.

Special features of the course :

The course is classified as first category.

Make sure you have the right fishing licence and, above all, that you comply with the regulations in force in Dreux. There are a number of specific courses (flies, beginners, etc.), and it's best to get information from the Eure-et-Loire federation website or from a local tackle shop.

The trout population is good, with regular releases of farmed fario and rainbow trout. Grayling are also present.
