A new boat fishing competition, the Mercury Fishing Cup
Mercury Marine and the Fédération Française des Pêches Sportives have decided to join forces for this new event. The competition will take place on the Seine at Poses in the Eure département over the weekend of November 11 and 12, 2023. The Mercury Fishing Cup will be the occasion to award the title of Champion de France de Pêche des carnassiers aux lures en bateau. The winning duo will be presented with a cheque for 10,000 euros - a great gift!
A competition open to all
To take part in the Mercury Fishing Cup, a competition open to everyone, whatever the make of your engine, you'll need to register from July 5, 2023 via the My FFPS application.
Registration costs 400 euros per boat, so be on the lookout as the organizers expect over 40 boats to enter.
Involvement and success
"Mercury Marine confirms its long-standing strong involvement in fishing by co-organizing this year's competition, which aims to be the most important of the year for freshwater lure boat sport anglers, since we will be designating the 2023 French Champion," says Maurice Duranthon, Managing Director of Mercury Marine France. A competition that will be broadcast live on the Internet for five hours on Sunday, allowing all fans of fishing competitions to follow the final course of the event.
A Mercury Fishing Cup logo
A Mercury Fishing Cup logo was created for the occasion by the brand.
"With this new logo, we wanted to mark the occasion," emphasizes Yann Diquerreau, Marketing Manager France at Mercury Marine. "Around the fish that represents fishing, we have a laurel wreath that symbolizes the French Champion title and two outboard engines that evoke the easily recognizable unparalleled design of the V6 and V8 Pro XS that have made the brand so successful since 2018."
