Once installed, the Deeper Range Booster turns your Deeper Pro+2 or Chirp+2 sonar into a dedicated bait boat sonar. It's a great feature for carp anglers who want performance and versatility in their sonar. Let's take a look at the steps involved in getting this accessory up and running and the results of our test.

Note that the amplifier is compatible with all Deeper Pro+ and Chirp+ sonar systems. It is also compatible with the vast majority of smartphones (Android or iPhone).
Getting started
1) Place the Deeper (with the bait boat turned on) in the water. The Deeper will turn on. The unit should be within 5 m (16 ft) of the amplifier.
2) Press the power button on the amplifier. The sonar and phone LEDs will flash. They are searching for the connection.
3) The sonar LED glows green when the amplifier detects the Deeper is in the water (within seconds).
4) Go to the wifi icon on your smartphone and select "Deeper extender". The phone LED on the amplifier will turn green (within a few seconds). The connection between the smartphone and the Deeper is then made through the amplifier.
5) Open the Fish Deeper application. The sonar is detected and the GPS is detected. Select the "bait boat" mode for a new survey. Ready to fish and enjoy all the features of your Deeper with your bait boat.
To check the battery level of the amplifier, simply press the power button once. The "battery" LED will flash (from 1 to 4 flashes, 4 flashes representing full charge).
To turn the amplifier off, simply hold the power button for 2 seconds and release. To pair another Deeper, simply hold the same button for 5 seconds.
Test summary
First of all, the Deeper range booster kit is of very high quality and is very easy to install. No need for tools or structural modifications to your bait boat.
As far as the start-up is concerned, it remains very simple and intuitive even for people who are less at ease with new technologies. This is really a plus for a high-tech accessory! Once installed, it only takes a few seconds to start up.
Finally, what everyone expects, range and performance? For more than two hours, I echoed without noticing any cut (below the maximum distance)! This kit is really bluffing and powerful. Also, what is promised is delivered in terms of wifi range. My Deeper worked up to 204 m without any interruption. I was even able to push the connection to 212 m (more unstable).
I was able to verify this distance with the Fish Deeper application, but also with the GPS of my RT4 (independent).
This kit allows you to efficiently transform your Deeper Pro+2 or Chirp+2 into a special bait boat sounder since all the features of your sounder are possible up to 200 m without any problem (bathymetry, 2D sounding, GPS points...).
With this accessory, Deeper has taken another step forward in the versatility and performance of this little ball that never ceases to amaze.
