It was in the exceptional setting of the Glénan Archipelago, off the coast of Fouesnant (Finistère), that the 95 competing crews raced for two days, enjoying ideal conditions: calm seas and mild weather. This racing ground is renowned for the diversity of its habitats?sand, rock, and seagrass beds?offering a technically challenging environment for the competitors.
The return to Port-La Forêt, where the event village was set up, was unanimously praised. Competitors, partners, and volunteers highlighted the quality of the organization, which combined professionalism with a friendly atmosphere?two hallmarks of the Glénan Open.
A no-kill fishing competition
True to its commitment to conserving the fishery, the competition was held on a ?no-kill? basis. All fish caught were measured by the officials before being released back into the water. The largest sea bass of the weekend, measuring 75 cm, was caught by the ?Les Barges? team, consisting of Stéphane and Sylvain Aubineau (Loire-Atlantique).

A hard-fought podium finish
At the end of the two rounds, the standings were determined by adding up the lengths of the five best fish caught each day.
The victory went to the "BARBAROT Team" crew?Bruno and Marvin Barbarot, from the Gulf of Morbihan?with an impressive total of 535 cm.
They are ahead of the ?WESTIN? crew (Alexandre Louedec and Pierre Tallec, La Forêt-Fouesnant / Névez), which has a total of 518 cm.
Third place on the podium went to the ?BREIZHILIENS? (Laurent Henri and Vincent Merrien, Gourin), with 469 cm.
Notable Achievements
As for the awards, Cécilia Castro (Arradon), paired with Thierry Cendrier, finished as the top female competitor in the event.
Also worth noting is the outstanding performance by 10-year-old Léon Bertheleme, who, alongside his father Olivier, secured a remarkable 4th place in the overall standings.
With strong participation and a high level of competition, the 2026 edition reaffirms the Inizys Glénan Open?s status as a must-attend event on the French bar circuit.
