Nitro Shad Illex (size 90)
A big winner at the start of my season, the Nitro Shad remains a safe bet. Its strong vibration is ideal when the water is slightly tinted. Mounted on a 5 to 10 g Nitro Head depending on conditions, it proved very effective. Special mention should be made of the sardine color (sadly unavailable today) and the bone, which work very well at night.
Madshad Evo 2 Madness (size 85)
This lure has been sitting at the bottom of my bag for a long time, but has finally proved its worth. Its tight, nervous swimming action is similar to that of the Nitro Shad, with equivalent effectiveness, especially when the water is not too clear. The secret iwashi color proved particularly suitable. Combined with a 5 to 7 g lead head, it's an excellent choice for night fishing.
Sandy Andy Westin (size 100, color white)
Discovered somewhat by chance, this lure blew me away on its first outing. After several unsuccessful attempts, it triggered 3 successive hits on the same spot. A nice surprise, proving that you should never neglect a little-used lure. Its fluid swimming action and light hue work wonders in shallow areas.

Spindle Worm Megabass (size 4", Ayu color)
Even if it seems less decisive this season, the Spindle Worm has saved me a number of losses. Its ability to move a lot of water attracts bass on the hunt. Mounted on a 5 to 7 g Bachi Head, it remains a classic of its kind. Its grooved belly is ideal for adding attractants, which can make all the difference when the going gets tough.
Black Minnow Fiiish (size 90, white)
Well-known for boat fishing, the Black Minnow also adapts well to night fishing from shore. Unlike the slow animations I use during the day, I prefer a jerky retrieve. The white color stands out at night. With a 5 g head, its efficiency is remarkable even in shallow water.

This early summer confirms that bass are targeting small prey. Despite the presence of many small fish, it's still possible to make some very fine catches. Each lure mentioned here has its own moment, depth and ideal conditions. The key, as always, is adaptation. Tonight, I'm going back with these sure-fire values in my box.
