Suzuki Fishing Tour 2026: The second stop in Lorient took place this Saturday, June 13, and Sunday, June 14. This event capped off a fun-filled weekend of fishing.

The second stage of the 2026 Suzuki Fishing Tour took place this weekend, starting from Lorient La Base, bringing together some thirty passionate anglers for a catch-and-release fishing competition.

An organization run by specialists

The event was organized by Franck Lauféron, a dealer at Lorient Marine, and Sylvain Garcia, a fishing guide specializing in the Groix area. Their coordination ensured a flawless organization, which was praised by all participants.

A tough Saturday

On Saturday, June 13, the competitors received their instructions surrounded by the fastest sailboats on the planet, before setting off in fine weather and calm seas in the Groix straits. While sailing proved easy, fishing was much more difficult: the fish weren?t biting much.

Eight crews nevertheless caught 31 striped bass, including a fine specimen measuring 84 cm, which was immediately released back into the water.

The convivial evening then took place in Port Tudy, in the former SNSM lifeboat house on Groix?a place steeped in history, perched on the seawall.

Sunday: Fishing is booming

The next day, after finishing their morning coffee, the starting signal for the second race was given at the same location. With clear skies and a moderate onshore breeze, the crews that had been unlucky the day before quickly regained their motivation: no fewer than 115 bars have been connected .

In total, 146 mesh bars were recorded over the two rounds.

Unanimous thanks

The organization thanked all the crews for their dedicated and enthusiastic participation, as well as the committed partners. Special congratulations to Lorient Marine and Sylvain Garcia for the excellent organization.

This stage confirms the growing success of the 2026 Suzuki Fishing Tour, which continues to make steady progress, moving from a challenging Saturday to a festive Sunday.
