In just ten years, the IBCC has become the world's largest carp fishing competition. The number of participating teams has risen from 50 to 300, with over 1,000 competitors from 29 different countries.
IBCC 2025 dates and venue :
The 2025 edition will be held from April 12 to 19 at Lake Balaton in Hungary, a picturesque setting ideal for this large-scale event.

An international event
International participation :
The IBCC 2025 will welcome 300 teams from 29 countries, including participants from Kazakhstan, New Zealand, South Africa and Vietnam. Each team is made up of 3-4 members, covering a 600 km² competition area around Lake Balaton.

Competition format:
The competition takes place over a non-stop 160-hour format, testing the endurance, strategy and skills of the participants.
Impressive captures :
Last year, anglers caught a total of 15.4 tonnes of carp, or 1,131 fish with an average weight of 13.64 kg. The largest carp caught weighed 35.6 kg, setting a record for the lake.
