The boilies
Baits are essential in method-feeder fishing: they are attractive, selective and easy to use. We will use in the method-feeder mainly baits of small sizes (10 mm and less). There are three kinds of baits:
Dense boilies
They allow a presentation on the bottom. They can be used with any kind of rig (braid or monofilament). You can also bait with (slingshot or bait-rocket).
Floating boilies
They allow a presentation taken off in the cloud of bait or above. Either they are used with the leader completely unstuck, or it is necessary to add a ballast (buckshot or leaded paste) on the leader to choose the height at which the boilie will float.
Wafter" boilies
They are boilies called balanced. Basically they float (but slightly) and sink under the weight of the hook once they are baited. They are perfect for balanced presentations when the fish are delicate.
Pellets
Very attractive and close to the composition of the bait (especially when it includes all or part of pellets), they are essential to provide when fishing in carpodrome. For baiting, either they are pre-drilled and can be baited classically with a hair. Or they are not drilled and the best is to fix them with a bait-bander (elastic).
False baits
Plastic baits are very interesting, because they hold very well to the hair. The colors and shapes are also important. There are floating or sinking ones. The most used are the false corn and false maggots. They allow to fish efficiently (by being more solid than natural baits) when small white fishes eat quickly the real baits on the hair.
Natural baits
The seeds
The most used for baiting (because of its size and attractiveness) is sweet corn. It is a very attractive seed, but fragile when the small white fish are voracious. This is the only limit to the use of sweet corn.
Animal baits
Maggots or earthworms are first class baits. They are to be baited on a maggots-clip. Their limit of use is, as for the sweet corn, the fact of being quickly eaten by the small white fish when they are in number and active.
