The Black Arrow braid is one of the many new products to be offered by Sensas in 2021. Developed in close collaboration with Sensas Pro-Staff, this braid has been specifically designed for Feeder fishing. We'll see, however, that it can be diverted from its primary use in a very relevant way.
Black Arrow braid is available in three different diameters (8, 10 and 12°) and packaged in 130 m spools. Its 8-strand 100% polyethylene braiding (the finest material for braid manufacture) gives it a perfectly round cross-section and a very even profile to the touch. In fishing action, this characteristic ensures perfect glide through the rings and guarantees record casting distances. During the test phases, members of the Sensas Pro-Staff were able to fish to over 110 m, which is rare enough to be worth mentioning!
Generally speaking, braid is used to meet a need for sensitivity. It is the ally of choice for all tactile fishing, offering more direct contact with the rig than nylon. Black Arrow's lack of elasticity further accentuates this characteristic, allowing you to feel the most delicate of touches and accurately determine the type of substrate you're fishing on.
On the other hand, what you gain in sensitivity to nylon, you generally lose in abrasion resistance. In addition to its tight braiding, Black Arrow also benefits from a surface treatment that greatly improves this aspect, and therefore its durability. All these features make Black Arrow a braid with a very interesting diameter-to-strength ratio and very good knot strength.
Finally, the Black Arrow braid is only available in black, a finish that makes it even more discreet.
My opinion
This braid has been developed, tested and approved by members of the Sensas Pro-staff, which is a guarantee of quality. Initially developed for the Feeder, the Black Arrow is also perfectly suited to lure fishing on light approaches to pike-perch, perch, chub and black-bass. The only criticism that could be levelled at this product is its loss of luster with use, as the Black Arrow gradually takes on a grey rather than black hue. It's difficult to dwell on this flaw, as the vast majority of braids have it...
