Astushad
For the Astushad, the range was already quite extensive. No less than a dozen colors were available. Now a new color has been added. Between papaya green and flash yellow, a fairly light flash green. Like all Astushad bodies, it can be mounted in classic or Texan style, on Astubreizh or Talabreizh heads for example. Pre-drilled bodies for easy mounting.
A reminder: the Astushad is an 85 mm soft lure with a patented clip system. This system has been designed to hold the lure body by compression. This system enables the body to be fitted to the head without glue. The suppleness of the body and the shape of the paddle give a very realistic swimming action at the slightest touch of the lure. Combos are available in 6 different weights, from 5 to 30 grams. Recommended retail price: from 6.30 euros per combo to 6.90 euros per refill of 4 bodies.
Talashad
Talashad adds 4 new colors to its existing 4. Bubble gum pink, flash white, flash yellow and flash blue, of course. They are added to the existing color chart. If you can find them in the usual 3-body refill blister packs, they're also available in a single combo, from 5 to 45 grams (that's new too). Previously, there were only 3 weights: 20, 30 and 45g. The smaller weights and flashy yellow color is a demand from pike-perch anglers. The bodies of these lures are pre-drilled for easy mounting. Lure body weight: 7.5 to 8 grams.
As a reminder: the Talashad is originally a coalfish magnet with a 120 mm long sand eel body and shad tail. The inclination of the tail and its shape have been carefully studied to ensure a realistic swimming action, even at very low retrieve speeds. In winter, when the water is cold, fish don't move very fast and predators tend to give priority to slow-moving fish, increasing their chances of catching several without wasting energy. The preferred targets for these lures are the usual predators: pollack, sea bass, cod, but they have also worked well on olds, pike-perch, sea bream, squid and even octopus.
Suggested retail price: from 8.50 euros for a combo to 9 euros for a 3-body refill. I'm attaching a video shot last summer where I tried out different combinations of mounts and colors. Very effective as an elevator lure on the spot or in a line close to the bottom when the fish don't want to come up. Made and assembled in Brittany, these lures can be found in any good store or on serious mail-order sites.
