The Gonta Minnow jerkbait
The Gonta Minnow swimming fish was developed by Mustad Japan for research into Japanese sea bass ( Lateolabrax Japonicus ). This technical product makes it possible to target sea bass as well as freshwater pike and perch in our waters.
This is a jerkbait armed with Mustad Jaw Lok anti-corrosion treble hooks, the brand's top-of-the-range model designed on the basis of 3 welded and forged single hooks, a system which makes the treble hook extremely light. This lure is available in 11 and 14 cm, in sinking or floating versions. Swimming depths range from 30 to 60 cm for size 110 and 80 cm to 1.20 m for size 140. Available in 8 colors.
All internal balls are tungsten. There are noisemakers in the head and a tungsten weight transfer to boost casting distances.
Mustad Mezashi Slim Long Jig
Another type of fishing where Mustad is expanding: jigging. This Mezashi Slim Jig is a long jig available in 5 sizes (40, 60, 80, 100 and 120 g) and 6 colors.
It is fitted with ultra-light Mustad Alpha Point assist-hooks which reduce resistance to baiting for easier hooking. It features two translucent eyes that allow light to pass through the jig to boost visual signals.
This jig features phosphorescent stripes on one side of 5 of its 6 colors. When the jig flutters down, multiple visual signals are sent, even at great depths or in tinted water. The 6th color is fully phosphorescent (Glow Pink).
Mustad Virtux canes under ?100
Mustad has brought out a fine collection of rods, including this Virtux series which is both technical and very accessible at a maximum price of ?100.
Different models from 2.10 to 3 m and weights from 5-21 to 15-55 g allow you to tackle all lure fishing styles. Despite the low price, these rods are equipped with guides and reel seats from Japanese manufacturer Fuji.
Some models are suitable for shore fishing with long lengths and low weights, such as the 8'3 MH (2.50 m) with a weight of 7-50 g. Just the thing for shore fishing enthusiasts.
4, 6 and 8-strand Mustad braids
To round off our selection, here's a series of high-quality braids made in Germany. These braids are drawn, compressed and glued. This last point is a specificity of the brand which allows us to obtain a very smooth and fine product, without the need for coating. It is highly resistant to abrasion and glides very well when cast.
The Demon Perfect is an 8-strand braid. The QLink model is a 4- or 6-strand braid, depending on size.
