Prevail III Slow Pitch Jigging

The PENN Prevail III Slow Pitch Jigging series sets a new benchmark for modern vertical fishing in Europe, combining power, sensitivity and comfort in a rod designed for intensive use at sea.

Covering all situations

Specially developed for jigging and slow jigging, this range is available in casting and spinning versions, with several vertical powers to cover all situations âeuros from fishing below 100 m to close-up fighting with powerful predators close to structures.

Its two-strand construction and compatibility with both low-profile and classic baitcasting reels make these rods extremely versatile in real-life conditions. Specific actions keep the jigs working optimally throughout the water column, allowing precise, controlled animation with a clear feel for what the lure is doing at depth.

Lightweight, sensitive and ergonomic

At the heart of the Prevail III is a high-performance Japanese carbon blank, designed to be light, fast and highly resonant, while retaining an impressive reserve of power. Carbon X-Wrap technology reinforces the blank, improving torsional rigidity and long-term durability without adding unnecessary weight.

This construction maximizes sensitivity: even subtle or hesitant bites are transmitted clearly to the angler, which is crucial in slow pitch jigging where most attacks are delicate and occur on the way down. The low overall weight also reduces fatigue, facilitating all-day vertical fishing, whether hopping jigs on a wreck or working slow-pitch metal at great depths.

Ergonomics have been meticulously designed for prolonged fighting and repetitive jigging. The lower part of the handle is deliberately stripped of EVA, allowing the rod to fit naturally between the arm and the body, providing excellent leverage and optimum stability when striking big fish.

Higher up, a high-density EVA handle ensures a firm, comfortable grip even with wet or salty hands, helping to maintain control in difficult conditions or with heavy jigs. The high-quality reel seat locks the reel securely in place, ensuring a rigid connection between angler, rod and reel when pumping at full power.

Premium components complete the package. Fuji K rings with Fazlite inserts are designed for saltwater, offering smooth line flow and resistance to corrosion and abrasion. They handle braid and leader with ease, minimizing tangles and protecting knots during vertical battles. Combined with the responsive blank and clever handle, these features make the Prevail III Slow Pitch Jigging the ideal tool for a wide range of vertical techniques: technical slow pitch on wary fish, classic speed jigging on pelagics, or mixed jigging on reefs and wrecks.

Available in multiple models (slow jig and jig, casting and spinning) with different power classes, the Prevail III series is the reliable, modern and pleasant choice for demanding European anglers looking for a precise, powerful and comfortable rod for all jigging styles.
