Close to the city of Toulon, the Lac de barrage du Revest offers many anglers the opportunity to practice their passion. A lake that's not always easy to fish, populated by various species of carnivorous fish and whitefish.

Revest dam supplies Toulon

The Revest-les-Eaux dam was built between 1909 and 1912. With a surface area of around 10 hectares and a capacity of almost one million cubic meters, the lake was designed to supply the city of Toulon with drinking water. A dam built across the upper Dardenne valley.

A path along the shores of the lake allows you to walk around the lake and access the banks more or less easily, depending on the height of the water. The level of the lake can vary according to the season and accumulated rainfall.

Many species to catch

Lac du Revest is managed by the Aappma Le Gardon de Toulon. Classified as a second category lake, Lac du Revest is open all year round for fishing, except for pike and zander. No-kill fishing is allowed for predators, which must be caught exclusively with artificial lures and barbless or crushed hooks. In addition to pike and pike-perch, perch are also present, and black-bass may also be present, depending on stocking.

Carp fishing is authorized from the last Saturday in May to December 31 inclusive. Night fishing for carp is authorized from Friday evening to Monday morning. It should be noted that the use of bait boats is forbidden and that carp fishing must also be carried out in no-kill mode.

Numerous whitefish, rotengles and roach also populate Lac du Revest, to the delight of both anglers and feeder anglers.

Specific features to take into account for success

Lac du Revest is not always easy to fish, depending on the water levels encountered. The banks can be steep and the bottom dotted with terraces. Obstacles to be taken into account to avoid leaving your lure box on the bottom. The breaks are full of fish, but it's best to try and explore the plateaus to avoid getting hooked.
