1 - The borders
Edges cluttered with trees or bushes are typical edges for peacock bass.

2 - Submerged forests
Water covered forests or vegetated areas are a favorite spot for peacock bass. But, the problem is that the fish can go deep into these areas and we can't get in. The only way to get in is to explore the edge and find openings to cast the lure deep, hoping to get some fish out.

3 - The beaches
On some rivers and on the Rio Negro, there are sandy beaches that are easily identifiable. There are not always peacock bass on them, but it is a type of spot that they frequent from time to time and it is always good to make a few casts there, to see if they are present.
4 - Inland lakes
The Amazonian submerged forest is full of lakes, more or less easily accessible by small river branches. The density of fish in these lakes is generally lower than in the main river, however, it is often very large fish that frequent this type of place. It is therefore necessary to be patient, because the touch can be long to arrive, on the other hand it is often worth it!
It is of course possible to find marauding fish in the open water, so don't just aim for the structures, and don't hesitate to cast into the open water from time to time. Anyway, the areas subject to the current do not seem to suit them, so it is better to focus on calm areas.
