1 - Propaganda
I am obliged to start this list with the propeller lures, because they are certainly the most emblematic of peacock bass fishing. I fully understand their dominance as their use is so addictive. However, even if it is a lure that makes very beautiful subjects react, the attacks often seem to be territorial and the fish seek above all to move away the lure by a headbutt rather than trying to eat it. It is therefore a lure to which you must pay attention and if you notice too many misses, you must be able to unhook them to use other lures. If you can't get fewer hits, it's better to have a better ratio of hits to fish that are well bitten.

2 - Bucktails jigs
After propbaits, it is certainly the second most popular lure for peacock bass. The bucktail jig is often used as a second chance, that is to say that following a miss or a follow up, instead of using the same lure, the bucktail is presented. The idea is to have a rod mounted with a bucktail on hand at all times to cast out as quickly as possible.

3 - Poppers
Finally, the last lure on this list is the popper, which, much like the propbait, is also a noisy surface lure that will attract fish from afar.

Here are 3 essential lures to have in your bag. The big propbaits and bucktails jigs are not common to get on the European market and it is often in your city of arrival that you will have to get them.
