A large majority of lures work very well on peacock bass. For the sake of strength, and to deal with piranhas, soft lures are not recommended. Among the lures that you should not hesitate to take along are spinnerbaits or lipless. But first of all, I advise you to bring at least the following 3 lures.
1 - Jerkbaits
Long jerkbaits are one of my favorite lures because they allow you to explore areas quickly and start working as soon as they hit the water, which is important when fishing the edges because the touch often comes in the first few turns of the crank. One model I like is the Takle House shallow feeder. It casts far, with precision, its animation is really easy, it can be reeled in slowly as well as quickly and it starts moving at the slightest request. It's a great lure for fishing shallow areas.
2 - Floating stickbaits
Floating sticks are and seem to be the right compromise between being able to provoke fun surface attacks and offering a good success at the touch. This is the kind of lure to be clearly valued if the conditions allow it, with a walking the dog animation on a rather slow rhythm, interspersed with long pauses.
3 - Hard swimbaits
Finally, the last lure on this list is the hard swimbait. This lure does not often appear in the lists of lures for peacock bass, yet I had good results with it, especially those in 2 parts of glidebait type.
