Being accompanied
To feel at ease and for safety reasons, it is preferable to be accompanied to discover float-tube fishing. Whether it is a beginner or an experienced fisherman, the mistakes of one are always beneficial to the other!
It is also easier to get into the water with two people, to pass on the fishing equipment, fins, etc... In case of worries (puncture, fall, stress or other...) it is also much more reassuring to have a trusted person with you.
And finally, since beginner's luck exists, it would be a shame not to have a friend ready to immortalize your new record during this first float-tube session.

Choose an easy and safe spot
In order to guarantee the success of your first outing and to familiarize yourself with the float-tube, it is preferable to choose a fishing spot that is easy to access, without current, and especially with easily accessible banks. This allows you to go there to rest, to adjust your seat or simply to modify a part of the layout which would be possibly annoying.
It is also more relevant to plan a fairly short outing. It is not easy for a beginner to know his or her physical abilities and longevity in the water. This first outing is primarily used to make final adjustments and to get used to the backstroke system.

Don't get too crowded and end up in the water!
For a very first test, it is not necessary to be encumbered with much equipment. On the contrary, a single rod is enough to get used to float-tube fishing. There is also no need to carry a lot of lures and all the accessories such as a depth finder, bags, etc...
The first outing is really to familiarize yourself with the boat. It is even preferable, if possible, to do it during the summer, and to throw yourself into the water from the front on purpose. This test allows you to realize the limits of the boat, and the reflexes to have to detach yourself, turn around, and get back on the boat.
These lines may make you smile, but this type of small exercise will allow you to know exactly what to do in case of problems during the coming sessions.
