2 accessories for easy transport of multi-stranded rods

Travel rods have the advantage of being less cumbersome than single rods, but once disassembled, the multitude of rods makes them difficult to transport. Fortunately, there are accessories available!

The cane strap

Two fabric bands with velcro sewn on the ends hold the rods of a travel fishing rod firmly together. They are practical for carrying your rod without taking up too much space, whether you are on the subway, on foot or on a bicycle. Some versions are available with a slot for a ring, so the strap is more secure and won't slip.

The reel cover

To protect a fishing reel from external shocks and elements, there are fabric covers. This cover, in addition to protecting the reel, can be used to maximize the holding of the strands together.

Indeed, its attachment goes around the rod, and completes the attachment made by the straps. There are models for casting reels and others for spinning reels, as well as different sizes to meet all needs.

Where to find them?

Some brands offer these accessories for sale. On e-commerce sites, not necessarily specialized in fishing equipment, you can also find them at prices often more interesting.

The original cover

In most cases, a storage bag is sold with a fishing rod. This bag, especially if it is compartmentalized, is very practical to carry and store the rod.

However, it does not allow to keep the reel and the line mounted. Therefore, it is less suitable for daily use. I therefore recommend to use straps and a cover to protect the reel, in order to facilitate the transport of dismantled multi-strand rods.
