1) Bone
Bone offers mostly travel rods. They know what they are talking about and what I can say is that they have set the bar high. I really like their range of casting rods which are light, solid and tactile. My favorite is the BVC 704XXH. Its medium action is a real pleasure. This rod is very versatile and will be at ease on pike/maskinonge, bass, or peacock bass fishing.
2) Tenryu
The reputation of Tenryu rods is well established and the quality of their travel rods is as high as their single-ended rods. Each year, some models are declined in travel version and today, Ultimate Fishing offers a very wide range of rods for all practices. Personally, I really like the action of Tenryu rods and it is a real pleasure to be able to take them everywhere. I have full confidence in them, especially the SP73M injection, which is my everyday rod. A very good reference, versatile and solid.
3) Hearty Rise
Hearty Rise has well understood the interest of travel rods and has been offering them for a long time. It is a brand that I recommend without any worries, in particular the Bass Force series for the very good quality/price ratio of the rods proposed and for their solidity.
4) Zenaq
Just like Tenryu, Zenaq has an established reputation. The Rouf Expedition range is dedicated to strong fishing with rods ranging from 30lbs to 80lbs. The finish is perfect, especially the joints that inspire confidence. Very solid rods.
5) S-Craft (Palms)
Finally, the last brand on the list is S-Craft, formerly Palms. Like Hearty-Rise, S-Craft offers a very good quality/price ratio and moreover, each of their rods is sold with a transport tube. From my point of view, this tube should be a standard for each manufacturer as fly rods are almost always delivered with a tube. A point not to be neglected in the choice of a travel rod. I have a particular affinity for the Voodoo Expedition 7'6 that every street fisher should own!
