Entering Colombia
To enter Colombia, it is very simple. For French nationals, all you need is a valid passport and proof of vaccination against yellow fever. Within 72 hours before arrival, you must also complete an online form on the migration Colombia website . This formality takes only 5 minutes. Upon arrival in the country, when passing through customs, we are asked the reason for our arrival and the address where we will spend our stay, so we must have this address on hand to facilitate the passage.
Bogota
This year, I don't even stay 24 hours in Bogota, to take a flight to Puerto Carreño the next day. Spend a few days in Bogota if you don't know this city, this is a great activity.

Puerto Carreño
It is thus from Bogota, that I take an internal flight towards the city of Puerto Carreño, with the airline Satena. Once the excess luggage is paid, this one costs only 1 USD for each excess kilogram of the 15 kilograms included, and the tourist tax is paid, it's time to fly away. One thing is sure, when you see the peacock bass drawing printed on the tax receipt, we are in the right direction!

Puerto Carreño is a small city located on the banks of the Orinoco River. On the other side of this river is Venezuela. Most of the traffic is by motorcycle and small tuk-tuk cabs. To take one, you just have to stand on the side of the road and one of the many tuk-tuk that criss-cross the city will quickly stop.

The peacock bass, called here pavon, holds an important place in the city. It can be found in the airport, as well as everywhere in the city with sculptures and paintings in its effigy.

Payara and sardinata
But to begin this stay, it is not the peacock bass that I will look for. Here are waiting for me 4 days of fishing on the Orinoco, in order to look for the payara and the sardinata!
