The Mercury Fishing Cup III, held on November 9 and 10, 2025 on Lac de Saint-Pardoux, confirmed its status as one of France's major sport fishing events, with 72 boats at the start, 144 competitors and over 14 hours of intense fishing. Conditions were technical: lots of pike and pike-perch seen on the depth sounder, but very few biting fish, making each catch decisive for the final ranking.

Youth at its best

At the end of two very close heats, the young duo Tom Morand âeuros Samuel Vidauporte were crowned French carnivore fishing champions in 2025 boats, thanks to their consistency and ability to convert the rare touches. They beat title holders Armand Michaud âeuros William Courte to the second step of the podium, while brothers Jules and Arthur Faignier complete the trio with another top performance. A 110 cm pike was one of the most beautiful fish measured during the event.

A well-organized event

On the organization side, some 50 volunteers from the FFPS Carnassier and Carna Club Bournonnais were on hand all weekend to provide logistics, security, control and entertainment. The Saintâeuros-Pardoux lake, with its 330 ha, its varied coves and its populations of pike, pike-perch and perch, confirmed that it was an ideal venue for this format of major championship, combining sporting demands, entertainment and the promotion of the region.

The 2025 edition was also distinguished by a very ambitious live set-up: 14 cameras (including drones), nearly 8 hours of live coverage, 3 daily sets, 4 chroniclers. This coverage generated some 700,000 cumulative views on Facebook, YouTube and Twitch, with numerous live interactions, reaching a much wider audience than just counters.

A promising 2026 edition

The 2026 edition of the Mercury Fishing Cup, the fourth of its kind, has already been announced, with several new features designed to enhance its appeal to anglers and the general public. Scheduled for September 19 and 20, 2026, i.e. earlier in the season, it promises a new dynamism with a renewed line-up and innovations in terms of broadcasting and format.âeuros

Mercury Marine and the Fédération Française des Pêches Sportives (FFPS) aim to ensure the eventâ??s growing popularity and longevity by introducing even more immersive and interactive formats, with the continuation and expansion of the live system that proved so successful during the third edition. The aim is also to make the event even more professional, while retaining the sporting spirit and conviviality that characterize this event.âeuros

The exact venue for the 2026 competition has yet to be announced, but the organization is focusing on easy access, excellent fishing quality and a suitable infrastructure to guarantee the comfort and safety of competitors and spectators alike.
