Carnivore fishing at Lac de Saint-Pardoux is a very popular activity.
Three main spots are recommended: the Puy Perrier cove for pike-perch and black-bass, and the Fréaudour and Villebert coves for pike and big perch. To fish legally on this lake, you need a valid fishing licence and a Club Halieutique sticker.
Carnivore fishing competitions and events are regularly held here, such as the first edition of the Lowrance Master Cup in September 2025, the French float-tube fishing championship, with some fine catches to boot. Events that promote recreational fishing and the Saint-Pardoux area.

For pike, the most famous spots are the Fréaudour and Villebert coves, where the finest specimens of pike can be found. These areas are very popular with anglers, offering good catching opportunities in unspoilt natural surroundings.
How do I get to Lac de Saint-Pardoux?
Lac de Saint-Pardoux is mainly accessible by car via the A20 freeway to Paris. Take exit 25 (Razès), then follow the D44 turning left, then right at the intersection towards Razès/Lac de Saint-Pardoux. After entering the village of Razès, turn left following the signs to Compreignac and continue for about 4 km. Blue signs indicate access to the various sites around the lake, including Chabannes, Santrop and Fréaudour. Free parking is available at all three sites for cars and motorhomes, with charging points for electric cars at Santrop.
By bus, route 237 links the Limoges bus station to the Chabannes site, with access on foot to the Santrop site via a footbridge.

In addition, around the lake, there are various accommodation options in gîtes, residences or campsites, notably around the Fréaudour site, which is a residential area with tourist structures adapted to hiking and outdoor activities.
