Mercury Fishing Cup III: registration opens on August 29, 2025

Registration for the MFC III opens on Friday August 29 at 7 p.m.! Who will succeed Armand Michaud & William Courte, champions of France 2024, and Jean-Baptiste Morel & Nicolas Noël, first winners of the Mercury Fishing Cup? The world's biggest boat-based predator fishing competition returns to the legendary Lac de Vassivière on November 9 and 10.

French carnivorous boat fishing championship

The Mercury Fishing Cup is the French carnivorous boat fishing championship organized by the Fédération Française des Pêches Sportives (FFPS Carnassier) and its title partner Mercury Marine. The 2025 edition, the third since the introduction of the new formula, will be held on Lac de Vassivière (Haute-Vienne/Creuse) on November 9 and 10, 2025.

This major sport fishing event brings together the best French competitors (and sometimes foreigners in mixed teams) for two intense days of lure fishing, with pike, pike-perch and perch the main target species. Lake Vassivière, renowned for the quality of its carnivore population, welcomes an impressive fleet of boats, sometimes more than 100 crews, on almost 1,000 hectares of water.

The championship protocol requires crews to hold a valid fishing licence and a FFPS Carnassier licence. The competition takes place over two days, with a points system based on the cumulative length of approved catches per species. Results are followed live on social networks and the Mercury Marine France YouTube channel, with a high degree of interactivity with the public.

The Mercury Fishing Cup has established itself as a must-attend event in the French and European sport fishing scene, with its many partners, many of them prestigious, its high profile and its emphasis on the values of sport fishing, fair play and conviviality.
