I have tested... / Black Minnow Ayu, the meeting of 2 bass fishing essentials

Some lures or colors have become fishing staples over the years, but have never met each other. For example, the long-established Fiiish Black Minnow and the equally famous Ayu color have never been associated until now. Now they have, and we're sure they'll be a hit on the coasts this summer!

The essential Black Minnow

The Black Minnow from Fiiish is one of the lures that have marked the history of bass fishing. Indeed, when it first appeared on the market, thanks to its Texan hook in particular, it enabled many anglers, both experienced and beginners, to make numerous catches.

This hook, which has been copied many times since, is undoubtedly the source of its success, offering the possibility of seducing sea bass where few anglers before would venture.

The hidden hook allows you to fish more effectively in kelp and seaweed, but also to present your lure very close to the bottom, considerably reducing snagging.

Beginners were then allowed to fish closer to the substrate and the more experienced set up different presentations and were able to prospect spots with other characteristics.

The famous Ayu color

The Ayu color was born in the Land of the Sun, where it imitates a common Japanese river fish called Plecoglossus Altivelis or Ayu.

With its light-colored belly, green back and yellow spot, it has been the success of many lures and has become a staple of both sea and freshwater anglers.

Fiiish's Ayu

The Black Minnow is available in a wide range of colors, from the most natural to the most attractive. Khaki and blue are the most common and cover most situations.

In 2025, in response to demand, but also because it's a color emblematic of sea bass fishermen, the famous Ayu was added to the color chart.

True to Plecoglossus Altivelis, it has a green back, a yellow spot on its cheeks and, unlike the khaki color, a transparent belly.

For the moment, it's a Limited Edition and available only in size 120.

Efficient, of course!

There was no doubt about it, but it's always essential to check it out for yourself, the Black Minnow Ayu is undoubtedly a bar fish. Its transparent belly is an ideal ally on bright days and in clear waters, accentuating its discreet silhouette.

As with all our other models, vary the presentation to suit the mood of the day. It works very well for scratching, but also for pulling and linear action in the water!
