Several of them are in with a shout of a podium finish before the final round of the French Street Fishing Championship in Toulouse.
Leggeri/Drevet with flying colors!
The town is well known to street fishing enthusiasts, as it was one of the first to host street fishing competitions over 15 years ago. The headache is always the same: finding the most suitable areas between the Canal Latéral, the Canal du Midi, the Canal de Brienne and the Garonne. And this year, the huge area doesn't make the choice any easier...

In this game, it was the Leggeri/Drevet duo who found the solution with a solid and improved perch quota. Their choice to go to the Canal du Midi proved more than worthwhile, and on slow, technical fishing with soft lures and micro jigs, they made the difference. Perch were hard to find. The Gasnier/Calu duo needed to make up for lost time and reassure themselves, but still managed four and a Garonne chub that didn't put them on the podium. They failed to finish fourth in Toulouse, but their reputation was restored.
In second place, the Seguin/Bontempelli duo ventured out for black bass and chub. And well they did, with three chub, two of which were caught at the last minute, and one black bass. As for the Binet/Videaud duo, they opted for black-bass, and succeeded, catching two black-bass, including a large 44-cm fish, and two perch.

The Fourcade/Rojo-Diaz team also did rather well, finishing sixth thanks in particular to two poles, one of which was a huge 46.5 cm!
A 77 cm barbel caught by the Jaury/Pailhas duo was the bigfish of the day, putting them in fifth place!
The Verger/Jeanson duo, lacking success, had to settle for tenth place with three poles.
Binet/Videaud French champions
In the end, it was the Binet/Videaud duo who came out on top. This podium finish earns them the title of Champion de France 2024.
Seguin/Bontempelli not only consolidated their place on the podium, but also snatched second place from third-placed Verger/Jeanson, whose tenth-place finish in Toulouse cost them dearly.
Leggeri/Drevet score the weekend's big "remontada". Their fine victory in Toulouse moved them up to 5th place overall. The Mesrine/Lys pairing took a solid 4th place with consistently good results.

In sixth place, as in 2023, we find the very regular Fourcade/Rojo-Diaz duo, who are paying dearly for their poor performance in Tours.
Finally, despite their good fourth place in Toulouse, the Calu/Gasnier duo failed to finish eleventh overall and are the big losers of 2024. Uninspired in Verdun, unsuccessful in Tours and without easy points in Toulouse, the duo will have to make up for it in 2025...
