Hi Tony! Here we go again for a second season of the Zander pro. After your 3 ème you are coming back with big ambitions?
Tony: Yes of course, the goal is to always win! We don't go there to string pearls. The ambition is to win, so we went to a place where we can potentially take points and bigger fish compared to Orellana last year. Now we will see because we do not have the results, it will be a surprise.
But there are always the same big teams, especially the Germans who know how to fish for pike perch.

With the memories of the first adventure, you must have been impatient and excited a few days before the start of season 2. Not only the desire to fight, but also the desire to meet again? Besides, you share regular outings in France with Stéphane?
Tony: Yes, impatient of course! Especially since it's been shot for over a year. Contrary to last year's edition which they aired in May, this year they chose autumn because it corresponds to the pikeperch season and also because we all watch the final episode live at the Berlin show on November 25th.
We don't have much opportunity to fish together with Stéphane because we don't live next door. It was planned though, but I had the covid at that time and so it didn't happen.
But we got into the habit of fishing every year for two weeks together. And when you spend 15 days with a person on a boat, you start to know him well, there are automatisms that are created, you know what the person needs, how he fishes, his vision, how he thinks. We will say that we reserve the pleasure of fishing together when we go to shoot this kind of events.

By the way! Are you signing autographs by the water now?
Tony: Not too much! But people recognize me and come to see me and talk to me. I often get a "Yes Tony" out of nowhere and it's great fun.
I had some at the stade de France during a concert. A guy who recognized me and came to me with a "Yes Tony". It's quite funny and very nice!
I imagine that once again you represent France and even more Brittany ? Any new material to discover during this season ?
Tony: Yes, there will be new stuff! But I'm not going to reveal that now or where we fished and how. But we brought equipment that was adapted to the environment and to the fishing that we did during the shooting. And then at Rodhouse and Fiiish, there is everything you need to fish for pike perch in all possible environments, so no problem! We will talk about it as soon as we discover our spots.

Precisely without spoiling the first episode (Friday 21 at 7pm on Kanalgratisdotse), did you change your strategy compared to the previous year to climb the two missing steps?
Tony: Last year we were one point short and came up just short. We almost took it on the day of the edge in particular, but Nays scored stratospherically!
You need 4 points to win in my opinion, so that's what we're aiming for! Clearly our goal is to make the number once again and a top five. And why not a big fishâeuros¦ Anything can happen.
The question is "Is Nays able to do the same score again?", which is still insane! If they do the same thing again, hats off to you guys!

Knowing you and Stéphane, I imagine that there are a lot of fish in the rendezvous, but today even without knowing the result, are you happy with your course?
Tony: So honestly, we had a blast and I think that will show on camera. We had a great time fishing and personally! We got along very well and we loved the place and the fishing.
I will speak about it later, but we had help from the local fishermen to prepare the area and to make the best of this competition! There was still a great mobilization around us and I think we will be there!

A little scoop for our readers before this first episode?
Tony: The scoop is that I fish with Stephane for the Rodhouse/Fiiish team and 5 other teams. (Laughs)
In the teaser we can already try to see who fished where!
We already know the results until the middle of the second day but I don't remember. The real scoop is that we are not hooded! (Laughs)

Can't wait to be back on Friday and hear your French accent and that famous "Yes tony!"
Tony: Yes, we have a very strong accent! It would take a complete immersion to learn English well and it is clearly not my case. But I get by and it doesn't matter if I'm teased as long as I can make myself understood. And I think that most French people manage to do that. (Laughs)
