We have seen in a previous article that the anti-fisherman is an element of the rig that is almost indispensable to fish correctly for carp. The helicopter type anti-fisher made with Leadcore allows to answer to situations where the lead clip type anti-fisher is not efficient enough or not at all.
What is a helicopter-type anti-fogger?
Like the lead clip, the helicopter rig is a rather rigid or semi-rigid part, but this time placed between your line body (braid or nylon) and your lead (and not your leader). The leader, during the casts, will turn around this rigid (or semi-rigid) part like a helicopter. It is used to avoid frequent tangles during the most difficult casts, to protect your line (on the lower part) during the fights, but also to fill a role of anti-silt. These are its three main functions.

- Adjustable leader anchoring distance thanks to the removable beads. It can be moved further or further away from the sinker. Ideal for muddy bottoms since the leader will not be silted up.

The material necessary for the realization
- Leadcore. It has most of the qualities you need to make an effective anti-fogger. The splice will be your ally. Now you know or you will know how to do ( see article splicing ). The X Core from Starbaits in 45 lbs is perfect.
- A n°8 swivel with a universal clip to fix the lead.
- A Starbaits Heli Chod sleeve to cover the lead swivel.
- A swivel with a quick release. A Heli-Chod #8 swivel with a Starbaits universal clip is the best choice, as it will turn perfectly on the Leadcore once the leader is attached.
- Two 6 mm rubber beads
- A splicing needle.
- A pair of scissors.
- A lighter.
The steps for the realization of a helicopter type anti-fogging device
1- Unroll and cut 1 m of Leadcore. At the end of its realization your anti-helicopter type will be 80 cm long (lost during the realization of the two splices). This length is more than enough.
2- Make a first splice by "trapping" your swivel with a quick fastener (for the lead).
3- Put on the Heli Chod sleeve.
4- Thread the first bead by drilling it and not by passing it through the existing holes in order to increase the resistance on the leadcore.
5- Pass the Heli Chod swivel with the quick release.
6- Thread the second bead in the same way as the first.
7- Make a loop by making a final splice at the end. This will allow you to easily attach your line body.
A tip
It is possible to make a knot at the distance of the lead that you want below the first bead. Thus, during a fight, even if your leader is very short, the fish will not end up with its head in the sinker (leader that goes down in the fight).
This helicopter rig will be an indispensable ally in situations where a classic anti-fisherman will be little or non-effective. It will allow a better presentation of your leader which is one of the keys to success.
