Whether you are a beginner or not, it is important to put your worm on the hook properly to increase your results. There are different ways to put a worm on a hook, techniques to know to fish well.

Use a worm needle

One of the easiest ways to do this is to use a worm needle. There are several types of needles, but all of them will allow you to optimize the presentation of the worm.

First of all, it is better to thread the worm on the needle by the head. Indeed, the head of the worms is more voluminous and more robust, which will allow to thread correctly the worm on the needle. It is recommended to wet the needle beforehand to make it easier to slide on.

Once you have the worm in hand, you can apply pressure with your fingers on the head of the worm so that it opens its mouth and you can insert the needle more easily.

Then slide the worm onto the needle, taking care not to break the worm's skin. As soon as the worm is completely positioned on the needle, you just have to position the tip of your hook in the hole provided for this purpose.

Then tighten your thread to gently bend the needle to put it under tension. Keep this tension until the end of the operation which consists in sliding the worm along the hook and the wire. A paddle hook is recommended to facilitate the operation.

To finish, gently remove the needle and slightly raise the tip of the hook. Your rig is now ready to fish.

The use of a needle makes it possible to escherch the worms in whole or in pieces, in order to adapt the mouthful to the targeted fish.

Simply prick the worm

It is possible to bait a worm or several worms by only pricking them on the tip of the hook. To make it more resistant, it is recommended to prick the hook in the hard part just below the head to keep it alive.
