Connecting a teaser to a fishing line: drop shot mounting

The drop shot rig is nothing more and nothing less than the placement of a soft lure as a bypass. It can also be used to present a teaser in front of a soft lure or a surface lure. Here's how to do it.

This knot allows you to place a soft lure or a feather on your main line with minimum risk of tangling. I particularly recommend it for fishing with soft lures, whether for casting-ramming or vertical fishing, for example. But it's also possible to replace the main lure with a sinker to present your lure above the bottom and animate it very slowly, almost on the spot...

Here's how to do it with a teaser. To use a soft lure, simply do the same with a single (or Texan).

Step 1:

Make a loop with your line.

Step 2:

Pass the loop through the eye of the hook. Make sure you thread it from front to back.

Step 3:

Make a wide knot with your loop, upstream of the hook.

Step 4:

Pass the hook through the loop.

Step 5:

Moisten with saliva and gradually tighten the knot.

Tip:

To ensure that the hook is properly presented pointing upwards, pass the free line back through the hook eye from front to back. This way, with the tension of the line, it will always be ideally presented.

All that's left to do is attach your main lure or your sinker in the case of a drop shot rig.

Highlights :

  • No other wires required.
  • Ensures excellent presentation.
  • Very easy to make.

Weakness:

  • Need to redo the entire assembly in the event of breakage.
