Loire Silure 2026 Trophy: registration now open

Loire Silure Trophy 2026

The Trophée Loire Silure 2026 promises to be an exceptional edition of this emblematic competition, recognized as the biggest in France dedicated to catfish fishing.

Organized by the AAPPMA Les Fervents de la Gaule in Gennes-Val-de-Loire (49), it attracts dozens of teams of passionate anglers and numerous spectators every year, transforming the banks of the Loire into a veritable fishing festival.

Dates and location

The event will take place on July 4 and 5, 2026, on the emblematic Gennes-Val-de-Loire slipway in Maine-et-Loire. This sector of the Loire, known for its rich trophy catfish population, offers a wild and technical no-kill course, with deep zones, varied structures and exceptional biodiversity to challenge competitors' strategies. The two days of competition will alternate rounds of intense fishing with moments of conviviality along the river.

Competition format

It's a boat competition reserved for teams of two anglers, with strict no-kill rules to preserve the stock. The heats consist of catching the biggest possible catfish, measured by weight (immediately released afterwards).

With around thirty teams expected, the pressure is on: strategies using livebait, lures or natural baits, adapting to the Loire's changing currents... The 2026 edition promises tight duels, with potential record catfish exceeding 2 meters!

Entertainment and festive atmosphere

Much more than just a competition, it's a complete weekend for everyone:

  • Exhibitor stands: specialist catfish equipment, lures, probes and boats.
  • Technical demonstrations: fish detection, knots, rigging.
  • Numerous catfish fishing VIPs will be present, including Jean-Claude Tanzilli, Xavier Vella, Laurent Ribeiro...
  • Catfish ponds for the public, initiations and family events.
  • Festive evening on Saturday: giant mussels and French fries with DJ set, refreshment bar, food-trucks and live prize-giving.

The spirit is festive, accessible and family-friendly, with a strong emphasis on the Loire's heritage and responsible fishing.

Endowments and challenges

The rewards are worthy of the event: numerous attractive prizes for individual and team podiums, plus special prizes for the biggest fish. Enough to motivate both the best and less experienced anglers to come and rub shoulders with the best. The aim is to promote the Loire, raise awareness of sustainable fishing and boost local tourism.
