Pro-Staff / Jell Visser : « Being an ambassador really means a lot to me »

Jell Visser has been fishing in the Netherlands with numerous predator lures for many years. Ambassador for Fiiish, Jell particularly enjoys tracking bass and big perch.

Can you introduce yourself to the readers ?

Hello my name is Jelle, a very enthusiastic predator fisherman. 6 years ago i started joining team fiiish Netherlands. My favorite kind of fishing is lure fishing for predator fish, in the summer my favorite specie is seabass and in winter big perch. So i fish in salt and freshwater. I live near the sea, so after work i can just grab my rod and bike to the pier. In the winter i have to drive a little bit far to catch big perch, then i mostly fish in big lakes connected to the river. The techniques that i use to catch big perch are jigging, c-rig and twitchbait.

Can you tell us about your beginnings in fishing ?

I started fishing when i was 6 years old, my father took me out to fish for zander. I still clearly remember that day. He bought me a cheap all in 1 spinning rod and i used some deadbait. I caught several big zanders. That was when my passion for fishing started.

When, how and why did you agree to be Pro-Staff

I was always a big fan of the fiiish products and i was frequently posting my catches on facebook. And then 6 years ago at work i got a call from Michel Oostdijk if i was interested to join the team of fiiish.

Being an ambassador, what does that mean to you ?

Being an ambassador really means a lot to me, i love to make nice content for the brand and make other people enthousiast about the products. I feel really blessed to be part of this amazing brand.

Your fondest memory, or an anecdote, as a Pro-Staff to share with our readers ?

One of my best memories was joining the barracuda tour where i met a lot of other fiiish pro-staff members. It was just 3 days but i had an amazing time with super nice passionated fisherman. I made new friends with people from different countries in Europe who i still talk with.

How do you view fishing in Netherlands ?

I view fishing in the Netherlands as an amazing fish country, our country is rich of water. Anyone can catch a lot of different predator species with all kind of techniques. There's a lot of people from other countries coming to the Netherlands to catch big perch in the winter.

Any advice for fishermen who may one day want to join a Pro-Staff Team ?

The most important thing is of course having fun in what your doing.  Be original and creative with making content.
