I have tested... / Bassday Crystal Pencil 120, small and truly indestructible!

The Crystal Pencil 120 features acrylic resin construction for extra strength. With a weight positioned at the rear, this lure allows long-distance casts, meeting the needs of tuna and other marine species anglers.

Crystal Pencil 120

The Crystal Pencil 120 is a unique lure. At first glance, it looks like a metal jig, except it's not made of metal, but of acrylic resin!
In fact, it's built around a sturdy integral frame, and above all, its body is made from acrylic resin, which is also extremely strong.
L'armature est solide !
The frame is solid!
The resin and its flexibility absorb shocks and compression better than the commonly used ABS, which is harder and therefore more brittle. The lure is therefore molded in a single piece, rather than a hollow shell in 2 parts, as is often the case.
The resin used is transparent, and for many of the colors offered, this transparency has been retained, giving the lure good realism when in clear water.

As the lure is transparent, you'll notice that the sinker is positioned at the rear. This puts the weight in the lead during the casting phase, allowing considerable distances to be reached.
Le plomb imite un petit poisson.
Lead imitates a small fish.
Indeed, I tested this 37-gram lure with a 60-pound rod and braid of the same power, and indeed, even though it's a small lure, it casts very well with strong tackle - the manufacturer speaks of a distance of 80 meters! What's more, the sinker on the rear of the lure is decorated to resemble a small fish.
As far as swimming is concerned, this lure is similar to a metal jig, reacting in much the same way. One difference is that it sinks less quickly than a metal jig, and behaves equally well in a linear or vertical line. The other difference is that it has a concave nose, which creates bubbles.

Use

In France, this lure is clearly designed for tuna fishing. Indeed, even with its large size, tuna is a fish that tends to feed on small prey. With its 12 centimetres and absolute strength, capable according to the manufacturer of withstanding tuna weighing over 100 kilograms, the Crystal meets the needs of this very demanding fishery in terms of rig strength.
L'armature est bien visible.
The frame is clearly visible.
Of course, there are many other uses for this lure, such as fishing for bass, barracuda, jacks and a number of marine fish, and even freshwater fish like asp.
The Crystal Pencil is also available in a smaller 9.5-centimetre, 30-gram size, to match the species you're looking for.

My opinion

With its small size and ability to be cast a long way, the Crystal Pencil is the lure to always have in the back of your box. So if you're looking for fish or game that you can't reach with traditional lures, with the Crystal Pencil on hand, you can do just that, whether you're fishing from shore or from a boat!
This is especially true when fishing for tuna on the hunt, as the boat must be kept clear of the hunt and not positioned too close, at the risk of wiping it out.
