The Open des Glénan, 13th edition expected end of August 2025

Open des Glénan 2025

The Glénan Open, organized by the Glénan Pêche Sportive association, is a major event for sea bass anglers. The 13th edition of this competition will be held on August 30.

An event on a remarkable site

The event will take place on Saturday August 30, 2025 in the Glénan archipelago. A prestigious site known for its varied biotopes, including sand, rock and seaweed.

A smaller format this year

Due to logistical constraints and works on the Port La Forêt site, the 2025 edition will adopt a reduced format. The competition will take place over a single day from the port of Concarneau. The number of participants will be 70 crews of two fishermen each.

A "No-Kill" test

Competitors must fish with lures only, without using bait. The minimum size of bass caught is 42 cm. All bass caught are measured by volunteer stewards on the water, then released in a "no-kill" fashion. The ranking is based on the measurement of the 5 best fish of each crew.

Supervision and safety

The event is organized and supervised by 60 volunteers from the Glénan Pêche Sportive association.

The competition rules include strict provisions on safety, navigation and the preservation of the resource throughout the year.

A major competition

A victory at the Open des Glénan places a competitor at the highest national level in his specialty. The sport fishing companies that support the event recognize its importance.

In the last edition in 2023, Quimper's Ricardo and Carlos Da Silva were the winners.

The Open des Glénan is a not-to-be-missed event for bass fishing enthusiasts, offering top-level competition in an exceptional natural setting. With its reduced format and commitment to "no-kill" practice, this edition promises to be both competitive and respectful of the environment.
