Battle Beetle
The Battle Beetle from Lunker Hunt is a lure that imitates a beetle. With its front lip, which is not intended to make it dive, but simply to give it movement, when brought back at constant speed it swims with a marked wiggle, while remaining on the surface.

This wiggle is amplified by the wide range of movement provided by its central joint, which creates a good, showy surface wave.
It's also possible to make very long pauses, vibrating the rod tip on the spot to imitate an insect that has fallen to the surface of the water.
As for the lure's construction and strength, it's good for fishing black bass and pike in France, but may quickly falter on more powerful species.

The Battle Beetle is armed with two feathered trebles on either side of the lure. The feathers, with their Archimedean surface, keep the hooks horizontal when subjected to the slightest stress in the water.
These feathers give movement to the lure, but above all they position the hooks appropriately to maximize success when attacking.
Use
Its size of 6 centimetres makes it a little too big for chub fishing, but it's not impossible.

Best used for black-bass fishing. As it has a far from discreet swimming action, I recommend using it in a line to cover large surfaces in shallow areas, like a Whopper Plopper.
My opinion
The Battle Beetle is an XL imitation of a beetle. Its exaggerated size detracts from the lure's realism, but it's still super fun to use, effective and casts very well! Seen from below, it makes a nice, easily identifiable prey for a fish.
For a child just starting out in fishing, it's clearly a beautiful toy easy-to-use lure that will captivate him at the water's edge!
