3DB Pencil Popper
The 3DB pencil popper is a floating stick bait, but its swimming action is not exactly what you'd expect from such a lure.
Indeed, it doesn't perform a classic walking the dog action, with good amplitude, but rather a change of direction that is not followed by a glide, giving the impression that the lure is treading water. This bridled walking-the-dog action is due to the lure's flat nose, which is designed to create noise and splash with each strike, but immediately slows the lure's advance.

If you bring the rod up, you can reduce this effect and get a more gliding action, giving you the possibility of having two swims with a single lure.
It has a large ball at the very end, which acts as a mass transfer to enable it to be propelled easily to a good distance, and even in windy conditions, it retains good precision.

Its solid construction makes it a durable lure for tackling medium-sized fish without worry. The basic lure is armed with sturdy treble hooks. The belly hooks are not set lengthwise.

This is not too serious if you want to change the original trebles for singles, as it has 2 ventral attachment points, so you can put a hook on one side, and reverse the second one. If you wish to have them in line with the lure, simply add a second broken ring.

The 3DB pencil popper is available in four sizes: 10, 11, 12.5 and 13.5 centimetres. As for the choice of colors on offer, there are ten references, all very sea-fishing oriented, including Ayu, which seems to be a good choice for sea bass fishing.

Use
The 3DB pencil popper is designed for fish that respond to continuous animations and noisy lures, as slow animations with long pauses are not its strong points. This makes it ideal for bass and barracuda, as well as other marine and freshwater species that respond to this type of animation, such as perch and asp, at certain times.
My opinion
The 3DB pencil popper, like most Yo-Zuri lures, has a good design, approved sturdiness and, above all, a very affordable price! As a result, it's a lure, and even a brand, that I'd recommend without a second thought.
To come back more precisely to this 3DB pencil popper, its particular swimming action determines it to a very specific and less versatile use than other references. Nevertheless, it has the merit of offering something new, which will suit very specific fish or conditions.
