Weekly material / Megabass Hadara Trap: a small lure capable of going very far!

The Hadara Trap is a sinking stickbait with a rather unusual shape for this family of lures.

Indeed, even though the lure is only 8.9 centimetres long, it's still substantial in both height and width, and is different from other lures of the same type, which are generally made on the long side.

It has internal beads which act as a mass transfer to help propel the lure and make no particular noise. Its beads, size, density and 29 grams make it a real missile that can be launched far, far away! The manufacturer claims a casting distance of up to 80 meters, and having tested it, I'm willing to believe it!

To get it into action, simply reel it in with the rod low, and it will execute a very elongated S-shaped stroke. The retrieve speed can be varied and it swims very well at both medium and high speeds. It is capable of swimming close to the surface, the only thing to be careful of is to make contact with it quickly when it hits the water to avoid it snagging on the bottom, as it sinks quite quickly.

In terms of available colors, given that the lure is primarily intended for use in the sea, we've chosen colors that are best suited to this application. The majority of colors offered are therefore silver and blue.

The Hadara Trap is primarily designed for bass fishing, but it would be a pity to limit it to this use. The Hadara Trap's ability to be reeled in quickly while maintaining a good swimming action makes it ideal for other species such as barracuda. You can even use it to fish for asp in freshwater, and thus reach inaccessible spots.

The number of references offered for sinking stickbaits is not restricted and there's plenty to choose from. However, the Hadara Trap, with its shape and good performance, stands out from the crowd and deserves its place in our box of lures.

Metal jigs are often used to reach very long distances. However, even if these lures have the advantage of reaching long distances, their swimming action is not extrodinary. The Hadara Trap, on the other hand, combines the best of both worlds, with its ability to be cast long distances on the one hand, and its stable swimming action and convincing silhouette on the other.
