Duck Dive F 230
The Duck Dive F 230 is an ultra-strong popper, one of the most powerful lures on the planet. In fact, it has a reinforced internal frame and the resin used for its body is extremely resistant.
It also features internal mass transfer, with a large ball that moves during casting, helping to achieve good casting distances.
The colors available are designed for sea fishing, with patterns based on blue, silver or pink. However, one color stands out from the crowd: B42H, featured in this article. This dark color is very interesting for increasing contrast in both high and low light conditions, and for making the lure stand out from the sky.
Note that the lure is sold without hooks or split rings. To rig this lure, single hooks in size 6/0 are ideal. Sturdy split rings in 100 Lbs or more complete the rig.
Use
Unlike the F 190 model, the F 230 version is really a popper and doesn't behave quite the same way. When pulled hard, the lure pops noisily and sends a spray of water forward. If you use slower, longer pulls with the rod down, the lure dives below the surface and creates a trickle of bubbles.
Its elongated shape and small mouth give it little resistance in the water, so you can vary its use and the speed at which you want to work it.
Thanks to its two swims and its robustness, you can go after catfish, trevally, tuna, red carp, skipper... The list of species likely to succumb to this lure is very long, but what's even more interesting is that it will resist their powerful jaws or teeth without batting an eyelid.
My opinion
The Duck Dive F 230 casts well and lends itself particularly well to shore fishing, but it's the quality of its two easily executed swims that makes it so attractive.
