Rockfishing is a fun fishing that is practiced on the seashore. It can be practiced on beaches as well as on rocky coasts. Each type of lure allows us to target different fish.

Soft lures

Probably the most used lures in rockfishing, soft lures have the advantage of being able to fish all water layers. A heavily weighted shad will allow us to cast at a good distance and to catch carnivorous fish living in open water such as the wolf or the oblade . A crab or shrimp imitation, lightly weighted, will be ideal for scratching the bottom in search of rock fish.

You can also fish holes with these lures, which are very effective for scorpion fish, gobies and blennies. Some of these lures are loaded with attractants and amino acids that rock fish love. It's not uncommon to get herbivorous fish to bite with worm imitations dipped in attractant.

Hard lures

Designed for exploratory casting, hard lures and their erratic swimming action trigger aggressive reactions from many predatory fish. They work perfectly on the beach to target lizardfish, oblades or garfish. In rocky coast, the sars in addition, the wolves, and sometimes even the dorados, throw themselves on it to offer tenfold sensations on light material.

There are many types of hard lures, but the most effective are the swimming fish. They are very effective when they have a mass transfer to increase the casting distance, especially from the shore. Choose short bibs that don't make the lure dive beyond a depth of 1.5 meters to avoid hooking too much.

Metal and lead lures

Various metal and lead lures can be used from the shore in rockfishing. The most used of them is the casting jig. A small lure, very dense and tapered, the casting jig is without a doubt the easiest to cast at long distance.

Its weight in relation to its size allows you to fish for small fish without compromising on fishing distances. It can be used in line to target small predatory fish or close to the bottom to the little rock fish . It can also be used as a drop-shot to add a small soft lure.

There are also lures baits, very effective in rocky coast, especially for sparids. Among them, we can count on the tenya to combine both fishing with lure and a bait to maximize the number of catches.
