Presentation of the micro shad
Whether you're casting or hole fishing, the micro shad is a very effective all-purpose lure. Its thin and elongated profile, coupled with a high frequency of vibration, imitates an easy prey for the majority of predators of our coasts. A shad can be classified as "micro" when it measures less than 5 cm.
The micro shad is a versatile lure that can be used on a drop-shot rig, a classic lead head or a darting lead head. Each rig will allow us to target more easily certain species. Micro shads are very effective on sar, while a classic lead head is preferred for hole fishing.
The drop-shot rig will target small opportunists such as sarran and various species of wrasse. Finally, a classic jig head and a micro shad will seduce oblades and wolves that prowl near the shore.

Choose your color intelligently
When looking for predatory fish that feed in open water, the choice of color is rather obvious. Very effective, the anchovy imitations allow to seduce the carnivores which already feed on forage fish.
For hole fishing, for example for gobies and scorpion fish, the choice of color is a little more advanced. The fishes in their little cave usually see three categories of prey passing in front of them.
Firstly, other rock fish, in all seasons, which are mainly dark and tend towards brown. Secondly, some invertebrates like the Mediterranean shrimp, especially in summer, which is almost completely transparent in the water. Finally, when the sea is rough or when large predators hide in little water, it often happens that small mullets or anchovies come to take refuge in less than 10 cm of water.
As can be seen, the choice of color is important, although gobies and scorpion fish are opportunistic.

When to choose the micro shad ?
Whether you are interested in casting or hole fishing, there is always a good reason to choose a micro shad over a finesse or a creature. For line fishing, you can't go wrong with a shad. The very principle of the shad is to imitate a fish in swimming action, more particularly a small fish in our case.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced angler, the linear shad will always be the most effective, especially if you don't master certain more complex animations. For hole fishing, it is not uncommon to want to imitate a crab or another small invertebrate, but the shad is a must.
Most of the time, scorpion fish and gobies don't take the time to analyze the shape of the lure, as long as the color suits them. The shad allows then to be better located by the lateral line thanks to the important vibrations.
