When you look at the Honey Trap 95S Sinking Stick from Ima, you'd think it looked like any other stick lure. However, this simple appearance hides a lure with remarkable swimming properties. Indeed, the way the lure is weighted internally, allows it to be thrown very far, without suffering too much from the wind.

Once underwater, this high density, combined with its aerodynamic shape, allows this lure to be brought back at high speeds and to support the current very well. This lure, pretty in appearance, takes all its sense once under water, with its excellent swimming quality.

But it is also suitable for fishing for pike in a slower way, or even more exotic fish like peacock-bass. In the sea, it can be used to fish all kinds of species that are receptive to surface lures, such as bass and barracuda, among others.

It can be brought back in linear, in this case, it creates a swim with a wide oscillation, and does not need to be animated. It is also possible to give small strokes of scions to give it a more erratic swimming. During the breaks, the lure stays well horizontal, but sinks rather quickly, so it should not be too long and its primary use is to be brought back continuously. The same goes for casting, when the lure hits the water, you have to start retrieving right away, otherwise you risk losing your lure on the bottom.

My opinion

The Honey Trap 95S is a lure that I have had in my tackle box for a long time, and it will stay there for a while! Indispensable for fishing for asp, it accompanies me to fish for bass and fish reactive to fast animations. You just have to be aware that this lure is designed to fish fast, a field in which it excels. It is not a lure to fish very slowly, as one would do with a surface stick and a walking the dog, interspersed with long pauses.
