The rock bass
The case of the bluegill is different from that of the carp and the tench presented in the previous article. This one has been exported from North America to France, where it is found in some environments such as the Loire.
In Quebec, it is a very common small fish, which can be found in rivers and in various water bodies.

The sunfish
The sunfish is neither more nor less than the species found in France under the name of sun perch. It is found in warm waters exposed to the sun.
Often, shallow edges with vegetation, lakes, swampy areas and river bays, sheltered from the current, are their preferred areas.

The black marigold
The black crappie is a species of crappie that can reach 1 kilogram, which makes it a nice fish to fish on light tackle. In the morning and in the evening, it frequents the surface in search of food, it is the privileged moment to fish it, because you can see its activity on the surface to spot them easily.
During the day, it becomes more complicated to find it. It frequents areas sheltered from the current and swampy. Despite its size, for good results, it is better to use lures of 2 inches and less, because it is a fish that feeds on very small fish or insects.

The equipment to fish for crappie
Even though they are small fish, they are aggressive. Small soft lures of 1 to 2 inches with leaded heads of 1 to 4 grams are used to search for these species in the different environments they frequent.
And the bluegill?
If there is one species of sunfish to look for in Quebec, it is the harlequin, simply because the 3 previous species are easier to find. I have not yet found this last species, which seems to have a smaller range than the others.
