Crustaceans for sea fishing, baits to use regularly

Crustaceans, such as crabs, hermit crabs and shrimp, are on the menu of many bottom feeders. Baits to be used when fishing in the sea near rocky areas, sandy areas or sea grass beds.

Crustaceans for sea fishing

Crustaceans, here is a bait that rock fishes appreciate particularly. Very often neglected wrongly, because too constraining to collect. However, these baits will make the difference when fishing for bream, sars, sea bass, triggerfish, rays, cod and many others. This bait is used all year round with a preference for the summer season. It is used in rocky areas, dykes and docks where fish come to find these preys easily and in abundance.

It is from the month of May, in general, that we look for the dorado with crab. Coming back from the open sea as early as March, the dorados like soft baits such as worms or mussels at that time. As the water warms up, they will quickly start looking for crabs and shrimps that are easy to find and very nutritious. It is true that fishing with crustaceans as bait brings fewer bites, but has the particularity of selecting the fish and especially the prettiest.

Mounted on round or circle hooks from n°4 to 4/0, the crabs will have to be however deprived of the back legs. No need to remove the claws, the fish do not care. The crab must remain alive after this operation. If, however, you have killed it, you should know that it is still good to fish. Some fishermen slightly crush the top shell so that the scent diffuses more.

S imple and very effective, the shrimp is a bait that will interest all the carnivorous fish of the sea, small or big, however, we most often look for the bass with this bait of choice.

The shrimp mounted on a hook is fragile, and tends to fall off very easily. The round hooks of N°8 to 2 remain the most used.
The smaller and thinner your shrimp rig, the more bites you will get. In addition, learn to use your reel's drag correctly, and you'll be able to get good-sized fish out of the thinnest of rigs. This fishing technique can be used to catch the biggest fish.

The harvest of shellfish

Crustaceans such as crabs, cicadas and bernard- the hermit will be collected at the time of a party of fishing to foot. They will be found on the rocky areas covered with seaweed by searching under the rocks or through the grass.

As for the harvesting of shrimp, fishing with scales and the net will be the most productive. At low tide, from the beaches, equipped with waders, the shrimp will be easily harvested by pushing a net or a hoe. The scale will be used often from a book and I invite you to consult the article "Fishing with scales, a fun technique for an absolute return to childhood" for more information.
