There are many reasons to take up fishing. Deciding to fish is a way to reconnect with nature, to set goals and to meet passionate people.

Reconnecting with nature

Recovering nature

It is clear that recreational fishing is a good way to reconnect with the surrounding nature. If you were lucky enough to grow up in the countryside or near a river or stream, you may have marveled at such a sight as a child. Going out early in the morning with a walking stick and smelling the air of the river allows you to totally disconnect from today's world of new technologies.

Fishing is a good way to discover wild places, each more beautiful than the next. It is also a good reason to learn more about the different aquatic environments that abound with life.

Set simple goals

Small or big fish

Even if some fishermen say they are satisfied by the simple pleasure of being at the water's edge, the majority appreciate being able to lure a fish, big or small. Intense sensations and emotions that have been part of our genes since our hunter-gatherer ancestors.

There are different objectives, more or less easy to achieve, and for all tastes. Simply to catch a fish, to target a particular species, to beat a record or quite naturally to share a beautiful day between fishermen or in family.

Meet people who are passionate about sharing

The image of the solitary fisherman who hides to not reveal his technique or his fishing spots remains tenacious and can sometimes still be relevant.

However, and probably due to the arrival of the Internet, many experienced fishermen wish to share and transmit their passion to the youngest, but also to adults. Fishing can be done alone, but the pleasure is increased tenfold when it is shared. The development of the no kill practice (principle which consists in releasing the fish alive in its environment after having lured it) proves that the pleasure of the fisherman is also in the sharing and the preservation of the aquatic environments.

Release and share

Every year many people start fishing. Whether they are young or not so young, whether they start pacing the rivers, lakes or the seashore, these beginners try to catch their first fish. We are going to try to accompany them in their learning process through different articles.
