Soft lures for trout: an alternative to have in his box

As the seasons go by, more and more anglers are stalking trout with lures. Although hard lures are the main lures used, the soft lure remains an alternative to fish lady fario!

A type of lure less familiar to trout

All trout anglers have swimbaits and spoons, spinners and/or wobblers, in their tackle boxes. These lures are highly effective on trout, whatever the environment in which they are used. However, in some cases, the use of a soft lure can be a real complement, if only to offer something different!

With no-kill fishing becoming more and more popular, fish can become educated to the lures they've already encountered, especially on busy runs. The use of soft lures can be a great way to offer trout something different.

The presence, water movements, noise and vibrations are completely different, so the soft lure is sometimes the solution to hit more fish, as are other types of lure. It's a type of lure in its own right that you need to have in your tackle box!

An all-purpose lure

Although more and more anglers are opting for single hooks to arm their hard lures or spoons, the latter have exposed hooks that hang below the lure and are therefore likely to snag a lot in the environment (rocks, branches, seaweed...).

A soft lure, on the other hand, has a single hook on its back, which greatly limits snagging. To take things a step further, some soft lures can be Texan-mounted, which further limits snags and allows the lure to go absolutely anywhere. An impossible alternative in crowded environments with another type of lure!

Some brands offer ready-to-fish, Texan-equipped lures in sizes that are perfect for trout fishing!

An unbeatable price!

Another big advantage of soft lures, especially for trout fishing, is their affordable price!

In fact, many soft lures are available for between ?1 and ?2 each. This allows you to reduce your overall box budget, and to buy several different models, sizes or colors to suit every situation!

The versatility of soft lures and the possibility of mounting them on different sinker heads depending on the sectors fished is also an advantage for the wallet! A small trout soft lure can be mounted on two lead heads of completely different weights to fish a small stream or lake, for example, which is not possible with a swimmer fish.

Some brands, such as the French company Delalande, have for many years been offering soft lures in bulk, to limit the impact on the environment, but also the cost for anglers!
