Fishing for big fish with regularity requires a specific approach. While this approach is based on the choice of fishing slots, techniques and lures used, a decisive criterion is also the choice of fishing spots. Big fish don't just turn up in one place by chance. By experience, they choose the best spots, and in the end, certain spots regularly hold trophies... These are the ones you need to identify and prospect.

Survival and food
Apart from reproduction, the behavior of all animal species is governed by two instincts: feeding and survival. So in each phase of their behavior, they will choose very specific and different places. To rest, they will move away from any source of stress (noise, light, open areas, etc.) and to feed, they will move closer to structures offering maximum food.
The fridge and the sofa
In short, fish react like us and are never far from the fridge and the sofa. But as individuals get older, they gain experience and know more than anyone else where the best-stocked fridge and the most comfortable sofa are. They even know where they can find food and shelter in the closest proximity, so it's these very places that will regularly house the biggest subjects.

Energy expended and stored
The survival instinct is based on making the best possible use of the ratio of energy expended to energy stored. Older subjects attach even greater importance to this parameter in their search for food, and will therefore reduce the number of journeys between their resting and feeding areas. They will also choose spots that allow the easiest possible predation and, together with particularly favorable hunting conditions, enable them to become active.
A sedentary lifestyle
It's because larger fish have a greater knowledge of their environment than smaller ones that they become sedentary. They know from experience where the best spots are, and rather than swimming around, they stay there and don't look for greener pastures elsewhere. So, outside the breeding season, they limit their movements between each area and target their resting and hunting spots with precision.

Renewal
If the structure of the site remains unchanged, a spot remains indefinitely as good and interesting for a big fish. So, if this trophy is removed or dies, it will be replaced by a subject of the same size. Large specimens will do their utmost to occupy the spot and scare off any smaller subjects that may be present.

Macrospots
In the same spirit, there's always a strategic spot in large areas with more individuals, where it's easier to feed easily and in quantity. So it's often at this spot that you'll find the biggest individual in the area. "A spot within a spot, in a way!
