Fly Vs Jerk 12 Episode 2: CWC sets the tone, what will be the reactions?

CWC took 2 of the 3 points awarded on the first half-day. These points remain virtual since they will only be definitively attributed at the end of the first day. So let's find out in this 2nd episode how the other teams reacted for the afternoon!

Bilan des points attribués à l'issue de l'épisode 1.

Björn Böström and Jakob Hank remain focused on the big fish and logically aim for the Top 5 and the Big Fish for this 1st day of competition. The start is rather good with the validation of a 97 cm fish which allows them to virtually take the point of the Top 5 at CWC but the team decides once again to take the boat out and to take the direction of a spot with big fish for the remaining 3 hours! The duo stayed focused until the last minute but the famous hit did not come...

As a reminder, Markus Teilus and Emanuel Swärd had to take their boat out of the water and change spots during the morning because of the ice. The afternoon started with a bang with a 108 cm fish caught on a big Grub but, like the Jiggar.nu team, the pair decided to change the spot a third time, this time to a river sector, in search of THE hit of the day. Markus Teilus quickly made it happen with a 102 cm fish. 2nd fish and 2nd meter! Even if the team finishes this first day of competition with 7 fish, it is an insufficient score to hope for anything.

Team XL-Marin/Mercury

Pasi Tapponen and Lars Litzel were fishing in exactly the same environment as the CWC team but, while they were not far behind the duo at the end of the morning, they seemed to be in more trouble even though a nice 85 cm fish allowed them to close in on CWC for the Top 5. Pasi Taponen upset the order for a while with a solid 103 cm fish that both consolidated their Top 5 and gave them the lead (for a while) for this point ahead of Jiggar.nu and CWC. The duo finished with a very nice score in numbers with 101 pikes and 133 cm for the Top 5. Consistent stats but not enough to hope to get any point.

Vision Team

Niklaus Bauer and Markus Tandefelt hit it big in the first episode with a very long fish of 122 cm and 9.6 kg. This second episode will be like a long desert crossing for the pair... Nevertheless, the team will keep the Big Fish point at the end of this first day.

Rikard Bergström and Stephan Nielsen are in the hard with only 1 fish meshed at the end of the 1st episode. The 2nd episode starts with a nice sequence of missed bites for Rikard Bergström then it's the crossing of the desert for the duo who desperately prospect for active fish. In vain.

Raymarine/Daiwa Team

The Raymarine/Daiwa team is looking for an area where the water temperature is higher. The team is catching a nice number of fish but it is not enough to hope to get any points.

Even if they only finished the morning with 2 fishes meshed, Markus Maliszewski and Alexander Lexén stick to their plan by staying focused on the big fishes. A trying strategy, especially with the poor weather conditions, which did not bring the big fish they wanted on this first day.

CWC Team

Pierre Monjarret and Stefan Trumstedt are leading the way but are not totally safe as the XL-Marin/Mercury team is in ambush for the number point and the Top 5 after the first episode. Pierre swaps the Pig Shad Jr. in Spotted Bullhead color from the first episode for the Pig Shad Tournament, a little smaller but in the same color, with the goal of consolidating the number point and the Top 5. Trumman opts for the Buster Swim. The duo starts with a double right off the bat. The team then unfolds its strategy and quickly reaches the hundred fish but the wind stops and the sun appears making the fishing more difficult. This does not prevent Pierre Monjarret from catching a 93 cm fish. The team, holding at this stage a solid quantity of fish for the point of the number, decides to switch to the search of big fish. Pierre Monjarret will put everyone in agreement (it becomes a habit) by putting in the dry a fish of 104 cm for 8,4 kg allowing the duo to keep the point of the Top 5. They will finish with 136 pikes, beating their record of 135 pikes in one day which was until then the reference in the history of Fly Vs Jerk. They also pocketed the number point! CWC hits hard from the start and sets the bar very high! Impressive!

Review of the points

The CWC team had finished the 1st episode with the 2 virtual points of the number and the Top 5. Even if the point of the Top 5 circulated during this second episode, passing from CWC to Jiggar.nu then XL Marin, it is well with the binomial Trumman-Pierre Montjarret that it is finally allotted. At the end of this first day, the CWC team validates the points it was virtually holding at the end of the morning. The Big Fish point is also kept by the Vision team.

There are 2 days of competition and 6 points to go. CWC is marking time but everything is still to be done! See you Friday March 5th at 7pm on the YouTube channel Kanalgratis.se for the 3rd opus of the tournament! Hold the line !
