The Tricoroll Ryushin SHW Illex, a trout swimmer made for currents

After the successive releases of the sizes 70, 63 and 53 mm, the Tricoroll Ryushin SHW family is growing in 2021 with the arrival of a new size in 43 mm. The opportunity to come back on this family of swimming fish developed especially for the search of salmonids.

The Tricoroll Ryushin SHW is a recent evolution of the famous Tricoroll, an iconic swimbait for trout fishermen. Designed in Japan, it has long been one of the best selling lures in the land of the rising sun. There have been many variants, including all densities offered (floating, suspending, sinking and heavy weight for very sinking). The SHW (super heavy weight), even denser than its big brother HW, is the latest addition to the range.

The Ryushin SHW version was developed in close collaboration between Illex's French team and Japanese designers. This dense version of the Tricoroll is primarily aimed at salmonids in strong currents. Ryushing means "middle of the river" in Japanese.

A perfect balance

In the already wide range of the Tricoroll, a very dense version was needed to fish the most powerful water veins. A not so easy exercise when you know that dense lures are more difficult to swim because of their strong inertia.

The Tricoroll Ryushin SHW has a perfect balance. It works from the cast by oscillating and shimmering its sides or by simply supporting it by fishing downstream.

It is very reactive and reacts to the slightest request from us. It pulls little in the line in spite of a pronounced rolling and a very inciting swimming.

4 sizes for all biotopes

The Tricoroll Ryushin is available in 4 sizes : 70mm (9,5g) , 63mm (7g), 53mm (4,6g) and in 2021 it is proposed in 43mm (3g). This last one is particularly intended for the hollow or torrential streams of mountain.

It will cover all trout biotopes, from mountain streams and lakes to lowland rivers. The Tricoroll Ryushin SHW will then allow to target small native fishes as well as strong migratory ones.

A family made for trout and currents

The Tricoroll Ryushin SHW has a small elongated fish shape, compressed flanks and an overall slim silhouette. It can be recognized by the detailed designs of the gills, eyes and the fine scales on the sides. The finish is worthy of high-end Japanese standards. The triple belly is mounted on a rolling swivel for more freedom and less stall. It also eliminates an important point of support.

The Tricoroll is a very "swimming" lure despite its high density. You can feel it working with each twitch animation. It can fish downstream but it is upstream or across the current that it excels. It almost never stalls, even on dry animations in full current. It is also very relevant to beat the ground in lake. You can fish different layers of water.

A Fast or Extra Fast action rod with M or ML power will be suitable for the 70 and 63 versions. In the stream, a L or UL fast rod will be perfect for the 53 and 43 versions.
