The Sea Fishing Fair takes place every year in Nantes. It has just closed its doors and allowed us to meet the major players in the profession and discover some great new products. A look back at this very successful 2019 edition.

The Nantes Sea Fishing Fair closed its doors on Sunday 3 March 2019 in La Beaujoire and the least we can say is that the mission of the organisers has been accomplished. This annual gathering brought together most of the French stakeholders in the sector and the public responded to the event. Whether for rods, reels, lures, accessories and boats, all sea fishing enthusiasts were able to discover their happiness during this 2019 edition.

Visitors were able to benefit from the advice of experienced fishermen for three days.

The possibility to equip yourself

This exhibition also has the particularity that the brands present new products, provide specialist advice, but do not sell their equipment on their stand. The task is the responsibility of the three sales companies in Hall XXL. The Comptoirs de la Mer, Alré Pêche and Philippe Pêche were in charge of the sale during the three days. You have to know that you don't like to leave this room empty-handed and I know what I'm talking about.

Let's face it, women are also interested in fishing.

Beautiful new products presented

As far as new products are concerned, most of the brands have been rather innovative this year and we will have the opportunity to present them to you soon. Smith France, after many years of absence, made its return to this event to the delight of fans of this brand. Lovers of "home made" canes were able to benefit from the precious advice of Goulven Dolle and Than Ho in order to make their own foils.

As for boats and kayaks, there was something for everyone: semi-rigid, open and helmsmen were in a good position in the aisles of this show.

As every year, the visitors were able to attend Frédéric Brilloux's interviews live

Interviews and conferences

Faithful to the position, the FNPP (Fédération Nationale de la Plaisance et de la Pêche) was present at the show to meet its members as it does every year. The same goes for Fishing TV, which offered live interviews conducted by the relevant Frédéric Brilloux during the three days. Knowledgeable fishermen were also able to attend the conferences led by the eminent Denis Mourizard, whom all sea fishermen know for his many specialist writings.

A real renewal of this show

It is true that a few years ago, the Sea Fishing Show had shown signs of running out of steam, but it must be said that the questioning of the organisers gave a new lease of life to the event to the delight of the fishermen.

"Equipment", meetings, advice and passion, what more could you ask for? I can't wait for next year!
