Organized by QG Nautic , this latest round of the Suzuki Fishing Tour brought together 28 teams at the starting line in the port of Dieppe. Once the boats were out at sea, the competitors set course for several well-known fishing grounds, including the Daffodil and Little Ailly , with one main goal: to find the bars and earn enough points to make it onto the podium.
Challenging fishing conditions
As is often the case along the Normandy coast, the weather put the competitors' nerves to the test. Clouds and sunny spells alternated throughout the day, while a significant tidal coefficient made it harder to find the fish.
However, it took more than that to discourage the participants. Each one adapted his strategy to the conditions, increasing the number of drifts and changes in fishing areas in an attempt to locate active fish.
In total, About 60 barbel were caught, measured, and then immediately released back into the water , in accordance with the competition?s ?no-kill? policy. The waters off Normandy also yielded a few surprise catches of several other species, including pollock, which were also measured before being released.
The local wildlife even made an appearance at the competition: a seal came to watch the crews, adding an extra touch to this day dedicated to sport fishing and camaraderie.
Team Vega Wins the Dieppe Stage
At the end of the competition, it was the Team Vega which has taken the lead in the standings. The family crew has a total of 316 points and thus claimed victory in this sixth stage of the 2026 Suzuki Fishing Tour.
The Team Multipêche , made up of enthusiasts, takes a solid second place with 239 points . The Team des Barbouzes rounds out the podium with 234 points , just five points behind the second-place team.
Another standout performance: that of the father-son team BRUNET , who took home the trophy for the competition's biggest catch thanks to a superb 75-cm bar .
A stop in Normandy that stays true to the spirit of the Suzuki Fishing Tour
Combining competition, respect for the fish, and a friendly atmosphere, this event in Dieppe once again exemplified the spirit of the Suzuki Fishing Tour 2026 . Although the tide conditions made fishing technically challenging, the competitors managed to find the fish and keep the suspense alive until the final standings were announced.
With nearly 80 participants, 28 teams, and about 60 barracudas caught and then released, The sixth leg of the Suzuki Fishing Tour in Dieppe confirms the success of a tour where athletic performance and responsible fishing practices go hand in hand.
