55 crews on the hunt for sea bass
Over the course of two days, the competitors will need to demonstrate their knowledge of the environment, their technical skills, and their ability to adapt to the conditions. Currents, tides, weather, the presence of forage fish, and sea bass activity can quickly change the game.
With 55 boats entered, the competition promises to be particularly intense. Each crew will need to develop its own strategy: choosing the right areas, finding active fish, and, above all, selecting the techniques and lures that can make all the difference.
Fishing with soft lures, plug lures, surface techniques, or deeper-water exploration: the possibilities are numerous, and tactical choices may evolve throughout the two rounds.
A competition with a "no-kill" policy
Beyond the rankings, the Fish Trophy at the Affiche Bateau showcases a modern approach to sportfishing for sea bass. Fish caught during the competition are released back into the water, making ?no-kill? one of the event?s core principles.
This approach is particularly well-suited to sea bass, an iconic species of the French coast and the ultimate sport fish. Powerful, wary, and capable of inhabiting a wide variety of habitats, it is an ideal target for determining the winner among competitors.
Two days in which every decision will count
In a competition like this, nothing is ever a sure thing. A productive spot on Saturday can go quiet just a few hours later. Conversely, a change in the tide or the arrival of a school of forage fish can suddenly trigger activity among the sea bass.
Teams will therefore need to remain flexible and able to quickly adjust their strategy. A single catch can sometimes change the standings and keep the suspense going until the very last minutes.
On September 12 and 13 in Paimpol, experience, reading the water, lure selection, and precise lure action will be key to success. For this 4th edition of the Trophée Fish à l'Affiche Bateau, 55 teams, two days of competition, and a shared passion will come together on the water: catch-and-release sea bass fishing.
